1. Labour Force Participation Rate: Percentage of the population willing and able to work
2. Worker-Population Ratio: Percentage of employed people in population
3. Proportion Unemployed: Percentage of unemployed people in population
4. Unemployment Rate: Percentage of unemployed in Labour Force => Best indicator
Who collects the employment data?
• NSSO (Under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI))
• Labour Bureau (Under the Ministry of Labour and Employment)
Some other data collection:
• Census of India
• Economic Census conducted for agricultural or non-agricultural sectors at intervals
